We have been getting many questions about  measles, the measles outbreak, and the MMR vaccine.  Currently there are no measles cases in Rhode Island and we would like to keep it that way!  The MMR vaccine is very effective at protecting people from catching measles. Children between 1 and 4 should have received 1 dose of the vaccine (typically given at the 12 month well visit) and children over 4 should have received a second dose of the vaccine (usually given at the 4 year well visit).  Please also see the links below for the CDC information and also the link to a podcast from Dr. Mike at  Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
